LG G PAD 7.0

The G Pad 7.0 is the smallest member of LG's 2014 G Pad tablet range. As the name suggests, it has a 7-inch screen, and like its G Pad 8.0 and G Pad 10.1 siblings it's running Android 4.4.2

The thick bezels around the displays also adds extra width to the G Pad 7.0, making it less comfortable to hold in one hand than a 7-inch tablet should be.

The LG G Pad 7.0 also can't claim to offer a tremendous screen resolution. With 1,280 x 800 pixels making up the display, providing a pixel density of 216ppi, it's far behind the 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution of the Nexus 7.

The G Pad has a hidden trick nestled next to its memory card slot. It’s an IR transmitter, something you almost never get in a low-cost tablet.

The G Pad 7.0 ships with a 1.2-GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM. The tablet generally performed well during everyday use; I didn't experience any slowdowns while playing Angry Birds: Star Wars, for example, although I noticed lag when scrolling through pages in Chrome.

The LG G Pad 7.0 is a basic budget tablet that slightly outmatches its competition with a supremely comfortable build, modest software extras and bargain-basement pricing.
