SAMSUNG GALAXY TAB 10.1

Samsung’s largest tablet PC currently available, the Galaxy Tab 10.1, positions itself well among premium devices thanks to the Android 3.1 Honeycomb operating system, big internal memory of 32 GB in some versions, lots of connectivity options and an above-average capacitive touchscreen.

In looks and feel the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is pretty nice as well. Though the shell is made of plastic, the Galaxy 10.1 certainly feels good and solid and provides great grip. The gray-and-black color scheme adds some distinctiveness as well.

For specs, the Galaxy 10.1 includes essentially everything you’d want in a 10” tablet in terms of connectivity. Powered by a 1 GHz Dual Core Cortex A9 microprocessor, Samsung’s device features Bluetooth 2.1+ and 3G support, though 4G support is available through Verizon in North America. As in other Samsung tablets (and to be fair, the Apple iPad), the Galaxy Tab 10.1 has just one port for the exclusive dock connector. Two cameras – one of 3MP and one of 2MP – are installed, but are nothing to write home about.

With Honeycomb in place, the Galaxy 10.1 user has access to all the standard Google and Android apps, while Samsung throws in goodies like QuickOffice, a GPS Navigator, Movie Studio for video editing and the Media Hub software to assist in controlling multimedia devices through the tablet.
