SAMSUNG GALAXY TAB 7.7

Samsung enters another product in its already-impressive line of tablet PC devices with the Galaxy Tab 7.7, loaded with the Android 3.2 operating system and another high-quality 1280 x 800 pixel Samsung touchscreen.

Naturally that screen, an in-house developed Super AMOLED Plus display surrounded by a metallic bezel with rounded corners, is the first thing the user will notice about this latest Galaxy Tab and should win over quite a few from the very start. For the record, Samsung may tout this as the single highest-density screen on the tablet market at 196 pixels per inch.

The hardware list is also quite good, though the ARM 1.4 GHz microprocessor isn’t the fastest on the market. Included in the Galaxy Tab 7.7 is 16 GB to 64 GB internal memory; WiFi, HSPA+ and Bluetooth 3.0 support; a micro SD card port; plus 3 MP and 2 MP cameras. At just under 0.75 pounds (about 0.335 kg) and 0.3” (.79 mm) in thickness, this Galaxy Tab is surprisingly lightweight and totable considering the hardware. (For comparison’s sake, the Apple iPad 2 weighs some 1.3 pounds/0.6 kg.)

One area which should make for a big plus in the Galaxy Tab 7.7 is the battery life, which is good for 10-plus hours of full use. In combination with the amazing screen display, this long-lasting power promises to make the 7.7 a huge hit among video-first users.
