Called Mebius Pad, the Windows 8 slate is powered by the new generation Bay Trail Atom Z3370 quad-core processor - a silicon whose recent benchmarks were as high as a Core 2 Duo processor, unlike the previous feeble Atoms.

The 10.1″ tablet running Windows 8.1, has an incredible 2560×1600 IGZO LCD display. Compared to the iPad Air’s Retina 9.7″ 1024×768, this is a real contender and is one of the highest resolutions you’ll find on a Windows 8 tablet.

The only reason I spotted the tablet was due to its brilliant display, which caught my eye with its searing bright colors and sharpness. Its 2,560x1,600-pixel resolution is one of the highest on the market, with a retina-scorching 299 dots per inch.

Other hardware specifications of the Sharp Mebius Pad will include 2GB RAM, 64GB of internal memory, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, an 8-megapixel camera at the back and a 2-megapixel camera in front, with Microsoft Office software.

Increasing the Mebius Pad’s appeal even further are the IPX5, IPX7, and IP5X pending certifications, meaning you need not worry of water and dust elements ruining the device, as it’s resistant to both.
