Acer Iconia Tab B1-A71

The Acer Iconia B1 is a good solution for the user who is looking for a small, inexpensive tablet to browse the web, access social networks, read emails, etc. Due to its low cost, it is also a good option for kids.

The technical specifications sound promising, at least in the beginning. The 7-inch tablet is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core CPU with Cortex A9 cores from MediaTek, supported by a PowerVR SX531 graphics chip from Imagination. Both are certainly not the most powerful components, but they aren't bottom of the barrel either. The working memory is 512 MB and the 8 GB internal memory can be expanded with a microSD card. Google's Nexus 7, which happens to this tablet’s main rival, does not provide this option.

It sports a VGA primary camera of VGA, 640x480 pixels, which is not at all impressive. The tablet is featured with a sturdy body and has a good build quality. Moreover, the looks of this Acer tablet are quite attractive, which adds as one of its selling point.

The Iconia B1 runs a pretty stock version of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, which is always a good thing in our opinion. Obviously, considering, it’s a low-cost tablet, any added bloat of a software skin will be detrimental to the user experience.
