SONY XPERIA TABLET Z

The Xperia Tablet Z is Sony’s best such device yet, with amazing thinness, light weight, that typically sharp Sony picture display and the ability for submersion in water for up to 30 minutes. In addition, the latest Xperia’s specs more resemble those of traditional tablet formats for greater universal appeal.

The Sony Xperia Tablet Z represents the electronics giant’s third such device on the market (and all three in the space of about two years, no less), and this one’s their first real groundbreaker. Sony went back to a slightly more traditional format – a rectangular shape, as opposing to the formerly interesting but asymmetric designs of their past – to produce a 10” tablet that is thinner the even the iPad Mini and noticeably lighter than any of its size. And the Xperia Tablet Z includes waterproofing capacity enough to be submerged in water for 30 minutes: a first among big-name electronics manufacturers.

The Xperia Tablet Z includes ports for micro SD cards up to 64 GB, micro USB connection and headphone jack, all with sealing covers. While the 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor isn’t the fastest in the business, it gets the job done well enough. The standard OS in the Tablet Z is Android 4.1 Jellybean, but an upgrade to 4.2 will be/is possible.
