The Miix 2 will be available in 11- and 10-inch sizes. The 11-inch version is designed for performance with up to a fourth-generation Intel Core i5 processor, up to 256GB of SSD storage, up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, and a 1,920x1,200-pixel-resolution IPS with 10-finger touch support. It weighs 1.8 pounds with the dock adding another 1.2 pounds.

The Miix 2's 11.6 in screen isn't bad either. Its 1,920 x 1,080 resolution produces a slightly more awkward 16:9 aspect ratio, which isn't as practical as the Surface Pro 3's 3:2 or the iPad Air's4:3, but since it uses an IPS panel the quality is pretty good.

The JBL-branded speakers are helpfully positioned on the dock to face the user while in Stand Mode, sort of like a mini sound bar. It improves the audio slightly, but the speakers lack punch and volume.

Surprisingly for a device with an ultra-low-voltage processor, the Miix 2 only held out for 5 hours in our battery test (continuous video playback in airplane mode with the brightness at 100 cd/m², the keyboard backlighting turned off and headphones plugged in). That's good, but it's less than what we were expecting, especially since Lenovo claims it lasts up to 8 hours.

Fundamentally, the Lenovo Miix 2 makes a reasonably good impression. At a price of about 550 Euros (~$738), the buyer gets a complete Windows tablet with a connectable keyboard. The latter is absolutely sufficient for practical, everyday use.
