This Fonepad 7 is Asus's attempt at creating a low-cost tablet for the masses. While the spec sheet may not be impressive, Asus's intended target audience might approve of the Dual-SIM functionality and voice calling features.
One of the things that downgraded with the new FonePad 7 is the 7-inch display – now at 1024 x 600 with a few more problems. First, the resolution can be an eyesore for long periods of use, as lots of details are really jagged. Second, the viewing angles are messy, giving you different colors from specific angles.
Under the hood of the Fonepad 7 is a 1.2 GHz dual core Intel Atom Z2520 processor with hyper threading technology. It makes the operating system treat the processor as a quad core processor. It gets coupled with a 1GB RAM for aiding multitasking and this is what you can expect in this price range too.
The Fonepad 7 is a worthy successor of the Fonepad, that’s for sure. Overall I love the device, great screen, long battery life and improved phone call experience.
