LENOVO TAB 2 A7-30

Lenovo on Monday announced the TAB 2 A7-30 and the TAB 2 A7-10. They’re basically the same tablet, though the TAB 2 A7-30 has a rear-facing camera, larger storage options and 3G connectivity, so we decided to go hands-on with that model.

The Lenovo Tab 2 A7-30 features a 7-inch 1024 x 600 IPS infinity display along with 1GB of RAM and 8 or 16GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD card up to 32GB). This tablet is powered by MediaTek’s MT8382M quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz.

Both the Lenovo Tab 2 A7-10 (seen above) and Lenovo Tab 2 A7-30 (seen below) tablets look identical and share some similar specifications.The 7-inch Lenovo tablets feature a 1024x600pixel resolution translating to a pixel density of 170ppi.

The two tablets currently run Android 4.4 KitKat, which is a year out of date, but Lenovo says an over-the-air update to Android 5.0 Lollipop will arrive in the spring. In terms of connectivity, the A7 series tablets offer GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n.

Despite their bare bones specs, at $99 and $129 for the Lenovo Tab 2 A7-10 and Tab 2 A7-30, respectively, it's hard to complain. Sure, these are far from the most exciting gadgets we gazed upon at CES 2015, but they certainly are among the most affordable.
