The N1 looks trendy and slim. It's 6.9mm thick and an aluminum frame that comes in dark gray or silver. Its 7.9-inch IPS LCD screen boasts a 4:3 aspect ratio with a 2,048x1,536-pixel resolution. Inside you'll find a 64-bit 2.3GHz Intel Atom Z3580 CPU and PowerVR G6430 GPU with 2GB RAM.

The Nokia N1 is much more wrist-friendly than the Nexus 9. It measures an iPad Air-rivalling 6.9mm thick, compared with 7.9mm, and tips the scales at 318g, more than 100g lighter than Google's tablet.

Zero-gap design and full lamination isn't all the Nokia N1's 7.9-inch display has to stand out with. We haven't seen the panel is person yet, but its technological profile sounds delightful - IPS LCD panel, 1536x2048 pixels resolution, 324ppi pixel densiy, all of that topped off with Gorilla Glass 3. If Nokia has gotten the colors, viewing angles and brightness levels right, reading, gaming, and multimedia will be awesome on this screen.

Whereas the Nexus 9 comes in 16- and 32GB storage options, the Nokia N1 comes with 32GB as standard, making its lower price even more attractive.

If the N1 does come to the UK for less than £200, it should be a very tempting deal. It's eerily similar to the iPad in terms of design and specifications, but has a smaller-capacity battery and potentially faster CPU.
