The Barnes & Noble Nook HD+ is at the top of the 9” tablet class, with a great 1,920 x 1,280px high-definition display, light weight and the Google Play catalogue filled with apps and media content. This may not be the quickest tablet on the market, but it’s definitely one of the most attractive – particularly for reading ebooks and especially at the $150 price.

The Nook HD+ features a similar design to others in Barnes & Noble Nook line, done up in slate gray and with the familiar power, volume lever and headphone jack, plus a micro SD card slot. No HDMI port, but an adapter is sold separately. The Nook HD+ is not rubberized at the back like its predecessor, however.

In terms of specs, the processor is a 1.5 GHz TI OMAP 4470 CPU – again, not exactly the speediest out there. Alongside the 1 GB of RAM is either 16 GB or 32 GB of internal storage space, with up to 64 GB able to be added with micro SD cards. WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 is supported.

Since the Barnes & Noble electronics line was essentially based on ebook readers, it makes sense that the Barnes & Noble Nook HD+ would be best suited for the purpose. But aside from some choppiness while playing “heavier” games, this tablet has a lot more to offer as well.
