ASUS Memo Pad FHD 10

Asus has enjoyed a rise in reputation with the release of its last few tablets, and its Memo Pad FHD 10 continues to build on the Asus line, with interesting features including its in-house “Floating Dock” app.

It should be noted firstly that despite its consistently innovative and interesting products, Asus is not a leader in aesthetics. The Memo Pad FHD 10 isn’t at all ugly, but the familiar black bezel with thin strip of color won’t help this tablet stand out.

What will help is, well, nearly everything else. Micro HDMI, micro USB and micro SD card ports are all included in the FHD 10, as is a 5 MP camera at the back.

The operating system on current releases of the FHD 10 is Android 4.2.2, and this device offers the handy “Quick Setting” panel which allows the user the opportunity to create alternate (and more individually useful) pulldown menus. The embedded “floating dock” app allows for multiple tasks to be done at once.

Inside, the CPU is a 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z2460 dual-core backed by 2 GB of RAM and either 16 GB or 32 GB of internal storage. As you may have surmised by now, the “HD” in “Memo Pad FHD 10” refers to “high definition”; coupled with the 1920 x 1200-pixel resolution, Asus has equipped this tablet with one sharp-looking screen to compete with the best of 10” tablets in terms of quality viewing.
