Founded in 2000, ColorWare is an American company that specializes in altering existing computer, music, photo, and smartphone industry gadgets. The company utilizes its proprietary polymer-based coating to provide existing devices with brand new, high-gloss, scratch-resistant looks. ColorWare alters the most popular consumer electronics and is even collaborating with large corporations in applying their logos to create custom-made ColoWare cases.

ColorWare currently offers their special coating for all Apple iPad models, allowing the buyer to choose from 22 unique shades. Here, the customization comes at a price. The altered iPad Mini WiFi is sold for $675, whereas the custom-made new iPad WiFi goes for $900. ColorWare is also producing a range of other solutions, including a unique tablet stand, the Wedge ($150); the Grip 3 ($300) back protector; and several tablet sleeves sold for $100 each.
