Proporta Frankie Adjustable Universal 10” Tablet Folio review

Do you own a less common tablet make and model and can’t find a cover made specifically for your device? You need not improvise your own solution nor have your tablet go naked in public. Thanks to Proporta, their Frankie universal folio can house a range of 10” tablets, providing the user good basic protection and a built-in stand for hands-free viewing.

The Frankie is comprised entirely of soft faux-leather which mimics the genuine article. This universal case is compatible with a range of 10” tablets, by way of four elasticized corner holds. Each corner employs the same approach: the top and bottom L-shaped pieces are connected via elastic bands, and the entire hold itself is connected to the back of the folio by 3 slightly longer bands.

To ensure secure placement of the tablet inside the case, the corner holds are then held in a fixed position via strong Velcro pads embedded in the inside back cover. While not the most sophisticated looking technology, the tablet holding design here is more forgiving than the plastic corners as seen in the Cooper Infinite case.

With the Frankie, pretty much most any 10” tablet is guaranteed to receive a nice snug fit. However, depending on the thickness of the device, the magnetic closure strap on the cover may not lock securely. Truly, this is the only one glaring concern we have with the Frankie tablet case. Also, creases on the inside front cover do appear as a result of folding it for the integrated stand support. But this should not necessarily be viewed as a genuine flaw with the case.

Overall: GOOD

Like any universal folio, this Properta offering can be deemed a best case scenario for any tablet owner who cannot find a case made specifically for his/her device. But in the end, we prefer the Frankie over comparable models such as the Cooper Infinite, thanks to its better overall quality and more forgiving fit for 10” tablets.
