No surprises here, with the same folding design, neat magnet for triggering the auto sleep/wake function and that durable, rubbery feel. An iPad 2, 3 or 4 is set inside the microfiber lining of the polyurethane backing piece. This bit is far too thin to be considered a proper tablet backer and will not hold up against extreme drops. But for everyday protection against the typical dings, scratches, etc., the SmartCase will do just fine.

Embedded magnets in the case’s SmartCover portion make a foldout tablet stand possible. Fold up the SmartCover in classic fashion, making a small pyramid on which to prop the iPad and ta dah! The user has an instant, sturdy enough stand for viewing in two angles in landscape mode.
