Powis iCase iPad 2/3/4 Laminated Book Case review
So many choices! If sifting through this market’s plethora of book journal-style cases is starting to become just as old as the traditional bookbinding techniques they incorporate, then your search should end here. Never mind all the choices you have for customizing its design - you’ve seen this before. What makes the Powis Parker iCase particularly special is outstanding functionality, featuring, amongst other things, a built-in tablet stand that offers so many choices to display your iPad 2/iPad 3 for browsing, typing, viewing and presentation.
Editor's Rating
As an inventor of the revolutionary Fastback bookbinding machine, and with over 25 years of industry experience, Powis knows a thing or two on how to create a qualitybook tablet case for your iPad 2 & New iPad 3. The iCase incorporates 100% recycled board that is covered with laminated book cloth cover material (also available in premium leather). It ships within a few days, so perhaps the most time-consuming part of the process is deciding exactly how you want it designed. You can choose a pattern from a wide-variety of themes, including animal skin, sporty, floral, fun, polka dots, and vintage books. Can’t find one you like? Upload your own custom artwork or photo. For increased personalization, you can add text (+$9.95) on the binding and/or inner cover, which is available in a range of fonts to choose from, printed in either gold or silver foil. Being an avid golfer, I chose the ‘Golf ball’ pattern from the ‘sporty’ collection, and I couldn’t be happier with the fit for my personality, or more importantly, my tablet! Unlike some clubs in my golf bag, as well as many other book tablet cases, this design does not incorporate any wood materials (okay, technically board is made with paper, and paper comes from trees, but I think you catch my drift). Rather, a snap-in plastic frame holds the iPad secure, and the release tab on the left will even hold a Stylus. Although I do fancy the look of wooden frame designs, I prefer this one that ensures all controls and features, including the rear-facing camera, are clearly accessible while the tablet is encased. Built into the plastic frame is a dual-collapsible kickstand release, which appears on the back of the case through a tilted oval cutout. Not only does this off-center design have a cool retro-modern look, it allows for proper weight distribution of the iPad during tablet stand mode. By flipping the case between landscape and portrait formats, the device can be displayed in 9 different positions, which coincidentally, is the same number of irons in my golf bag. Although the objective in golf is to score low, the iCase crushes its competition in the functionality category to emerge, in my opinion, as the Tiger Woods of book-style cases!

A customizable book-journal style case is certainly not a revolutionary concept. But for a design that is equally masterful in terms of functional performance, the Powis iCase is a break-through solution at a very competitive price.
