Released in tandem with the similarly-styled KudoBank, the KudoSol folio case for the iPad Mini (also for iPad Air) offers the user some decent functionality for the device. Naturally, however, the main selling point of the KudoSol is the solar-recharging battery pack which can power up the iPad Mini in green fashion. Better yet, the solar collectors themselves are comprised of a fibrous material that looks discreet and even improves carrying.

In looking at the KudoSol Apple iPad Mini folio case, one might not even guess a solar power-collecting battery lies within; no clunky calculator-looking red panels line the exterior, but rather a fibrous material colored the same basic black as the faux-leather exterior keeps the KudoSol’s functionality a secret. Like many (read: most) solar-powered tablet cases, the KudoSol weighs noticeably more than the average folio case – the price one must pay to recharge the green way, we suppose – but even with the already-light iPad Mini encased, this case is still well portable. As for the actual folio-type elements of the KudoSol case, one may note the two card slots attached atop the microfiber lining of the interior cover. The back cover features two (!) kickstands. While a bit of an odd choice in an embedded tablet stand, users will certainly appreciate having a distinct angle for typing and viewing. In short, then, we’d call the KudoSol Apple iPad Mini folio a best case scenario for those green-minded users seeking a good, simple, portable accessory – a decent use to go green in this aspect of life
