Choosing the Right Tablet for You

Choosing the right tablet

New Android-based tablets make a challenge to Apple iPad market dominance and give consumers broader choices in the post PC world.

With the release of Amazon Kindle Fire and Barnes & Noble Nook tablets this week, it’s no longer simple to choose the right tablet. Android-based tablets have stopped being just cheaper versions of the iPad. Tablets powered by Android 3.x OS (like Kindle Fire, Samsung Galaxy, Nook Tablet, and the Acer Iconia) are offering excellent user experience that is often more customizable than Apple’s platform. Furthermore, analysts predict that Android will become the platform to use because of its open source setup, making it easier for innovation in both hardware and software.

The main drawback, however, is that Android tablets are still lagging behind Apple’s simple and user-friendly interface, making the iPad a preferred choice for those who can afford it.
