Cooper X Lopez Magic Scribble iPad 2/3/4 Leather Folio
Cooper and Lopez have collaborated to introduce the Magic Scribble Leather Folio for iPad2/iPad3. The case feels great and carries the playful exterior design this line has become known for. But extra functionality, such as the tablet stand, is mostly substandard. And as for the flimsy magnets enclosing this case, well, who knows what those guys were thinking? Maybe they were having too much fun with the design.
Editor's Rating
In general, Cooper X Lopez tablet cases earn high marks for looks, lightweight and durability – and these qualities all remain in the Cooper X Lopez iPad 2/iPad3 Magic Scribble Folio. Unfortunately, the extra features in this folio tablet case are mostly of below-average quality at best and utter failures at worst. Start with the foldout stand . The discerning customer will know immediately that there’s trouble when seeing the interior of thin, cheap-feeling felt lining. The stand offers three viewing angles in landscape mode, but the hold it has on the tablet feels tenuous and clearly will not survive much use. The frame surrounding the bezel in the Cooper X Lopez Magic Scribble folio is puzzling. Though made of the same material as the rest of the case, it somehow looks worse and feels flimsy while not quite tightly fitting onto the tablet. And then there’s the flap. Designed to hold the tablet in place while being used, the flap has a nasty habit of slowly slipping out for under the device. Creases show in the material after just a few uses and when the tablet is enclosed, the user is left with this useless dangly thing on the case’s exterior. All in all, the Cooper X Lopez Magic Scribble Leather Folio is a bit of a disappointment from what is ordinarily a manufacturer of quality tablet cases.
Pros
- Appealing design for girls
- Nice feel
- Excellent price
Overall: MEDIOCRE
Some ladies will just love the playful design of this sleeve and everyone will love the price. The Cooper X Lopez Magic Scribble Leather Folio is not one for the more frequent or more seasoned tablet user, however, and is sure to be an affordable, short-term solution for most.
