Booq Taipan Spacesuit XS Apple iPad 1/2/3/4 Sleeve review

Durability’s the quality of note in Booq Taipan Spacesuit tablet sleeve; aside from our sample’s silvery pallor vaguely recalling the heyday of the US space program, this accessory is noteworthy for strong material, good stitching and quality zipper closure. The Spacesuit’s padding also does a decent job against some drops – even in Earth gravity.

Is there such a thing as a high-tech tablet sleeve? The producers of the Booq Taipan Spacesuit certainly appear to be aiming in that direction with this nicely durable accessory for any iPad-sized device. Neoprene is the primary material used in the Spacesuit to good effect in terms of light weight and feel. The trippy indented design – different on other side – combined with the softness makes the Spacesuit great for carrying. That neoprene also offers a little in the way of moisture protection and scratch-proofing. The inside includes a second layer of Lycra material which the tablet rests when enclosed, adding an extra layer of cushioning for defense against drops. A bit of trim running along the top provides a barrier between the zipper and the Spacesuit sleeve’s interior. As for those zippers, well, top marks. Sturdily made with helpful tabs for easy use, the zippers are made further impressive thanks to the stitching around them and the entire sleeve – as durable as the rest of this sleeve is.
