Booq Booqpad Agenda iPad 2/3/4/Air Portfolio w/ Notepad review

The Booqpad Agenda is a welcome addition to this tablet user’s personal want list, an opportunity to team the Apple iPad with a good old-fashioned notepad. iPad, notebook and a pen of one’s own choosing (ringlet in interior binding provided) all fit together snugly into this handy portfolio tablet case recalling the classic organizer – one great idea for the iPad-toting note-taker in your life. The Booqpad Agenda is a tablet case with an accent – a heavy accent – on the carrying side of iPad ownership. Simply put, this is one meant to be toted around like the daily planner/organizer sets so common in 1990s office life. Surely the first feature of the Booqpad Agenda to catch the eye while browsing is the inclusion of a paper notepad on the inside cover. Not only will this prove immediately irresistible to the incessantly note-taking type, the feature denotes some high cleverness on the part of someone in the Booq design team. A closer look reveals that the notepad is held in one of four slots running on each side of the interior front cover. Thanks to the overall symmetrical design of the case, lefties may simply place the notepad in the appropriate space and still have the iPad revealed on the correct side when opening. Further, specialty notebooks may be ordered direct from Booq. As to that opening, the Booqpad Agenda is sealed with a button lock – nicely strong with a durable strap attachment as well. A choice of color and material is available in the Agenda, though often a given material has only one color option. Materials include “leatherette”, genuine Nappa leather, recycled PET plastic and natural fiber; greatest choice comes in the last, with this version in gray, sand, basic black and purple-plum. At the top of this review, the high totability of the Agenda was noted; please take this literally, for this folio case is short on features thereafter. The Agenda cannot be folded out in any way for viewing, and features only a couple card slots, keeping this just short of serving greater purpose in the everyday. (No sleep/wake magnet, either – and here we were, thinking this was just about standard…)

Tack on a few extra points if you’re a lefty. The smaller touches are most impressive in the Booqpad Agenda, starting with that symmetrical design that allows use of handy included notepad and tablet from either side. Otherwise, we might like to see a few more extras – a pocket on this Agenda might make all the difference…
